Phoenix Foot and Ankle Institute Fellowship
A 12-month Foot and Ankle Fellowship Experience

1 position available per year (August 1- July 31)

Purpose of Fellow:

To understand how to initiate a pre-operative plan and execute this to achieve desired outcome. To master the art of surgery and through critical analysis and methodical reasoning, become surgeon and physician.

 

Fellowship Curriculum/Objectives:

Fellowship represents an additional year of subspecialty training and will be hands-on, involving direct patient care, not merely observation.  This year is typically the best and most rewarding year of your early career. 

Fellow will be exposed to advanced techniques in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery and reconstruction including circular frames, TAR, trauma and custom talar replacement.  Additional training emphasis on clinical decision-making, research/publication and practice management a large component of the training. 

Quarterly evaluations and review with Fellow on academic, surgical, and patient management skills.

 

Expectations:

Complete >400 complex foot and ankle procedures

Be able to lecture at fellows’ conferences as well as State and/or National meetings

At minimum submit 2 posters to ACFAS or similar meeting

At minimum submit 2 articles to peer reviewed journals

Fellows must live within 20 minutes of Scottsdale, Arizona. Fellow must have a full Arizona podiatric medical license at time of start and have transportation
